Client: A British global multinational risk management, insurance brokerage and advisory company
Actions: Hydro-GIS Ltd provided data services work which included collating historical hydrological data from countries in Central and Eastern Europe to assist with catastrophe model development. Observations of river flows and levels were downloaded in real-time from the hydrological services in the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany in order to provide a constant update on the severe flooding which occurred in that region during June of 2013.
Outcomes: Hydro-GIS provided unique, accurate data to assist the client with their damage estimates for the event and the calibration of their flood catastrophe model.
