Catastrophic Flooding in Germany Leaves at Least 19 Dead

News report:

Due to a quasi stationary low from a Vb type weather circulation, similar to what led to the central European flooding in 2002, there has been extensive flooding in Western Germany (Rhineland).

Currently reports state that at least 19 people are dead and more than 50 are missing after their homes were washed away. Continuous rain is forecast for at least another 2 days so things are, sadly, likely to get worse. We will monitor the situation.
